Lowpass
A lowpass filter passband consist of all frequencies from zero to the 3dB cutoff. It will attenuate frequencies higher than the 3dB cutoff frequency. The actual amount of attenuation for each frequency is a design parameter. This structure is the basic building block for all other filters. While in theory the upper cutoff of the lowpass should be infinite. Due to component parasitic and packaging it is greatly reduced. MicroAxiom has numerous designs that minimize the parasitic to achieve multi octave response.
